Cyber Security Advisor with FedEx Services, Inc. My current focus is on securing SDN and hybrid-cloud workloads as FedEx moves towards digital transformation and away from traditional L3 networks and data centers. In my role as Cyber Security Advisor I am called on to consult on many IT projects across the various operating companies that comprise FedEx. I am the team leader for the Network Security team that is responsible for implementing micro-segmentation, security analytics, identity services, and Wifi intrusion prevention among other security platforms and initiatives. I currently hold active ISC2 CISSP and GIAC GSEC certifications and have been a guest speaker on network and cloud security at various conferences including Proofpoint Connect, VMworld, and Future:NET.

Sean Sweeney leads the Field CISO team for Oracle Cloud Engineering. In this role, he is responsible for aligning and mobilizing his team of highly skilled former CISOs, architects, and compliance experts. He and his team focus on advising customer CISOs on security and compliance issues related to cloud, technical messaging and thought leadership, as well as providing strategic direction on OCI security products, services, and partnerships.
Sean joined Oracle from Microsoft where he was the Global Chief Security Advisor. Sean is a previous Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Pittsburgh, Chief Technology Officer of a legal technology and eDiscovery startup, Chief Information Officer for a national law firm, and Litigation Support Applications Manager for the U.S. Department of Justice. Sean began his career as a Database Administrator for ExxonMobil and the U.S. Department of the Interior.
A frequent author and speaker on cybersecurity, Sean is also an Affiliate Practice Scholar in the University of Pittsburgh’s Cyber Institute of Policy, Law, and Security. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College CISO Certificate Program and holds both Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications. He received a BA from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and attended Virginia Commonwealth University’s Graduate School of Education in Richmond, VA.

Prior to Fortinet, he served in various engineering and leadership roles at a tier 1 mobility and global ISP. Throughout his 18-year career, he has navigated the evolving security landscape across mobility, IoT, and service provider infrastructure.
Aamer has over 20 years of experience in technology adoption, product, and strategy. He has strong expertise in launching new products, customer acquisition, and driving technology integrations. Aamer is currently working on Cisco’s next-generation security solutions. Previously, he has led product management for branch firewalls, cloud-delivered security (SASE), mid-mile optimization, zero trust security, multi-cloud connectivity, IoT platforms, video optimization, and routing across various vendors. With 25+ patents, he is a former Cisco Distinguished TME, 2xCCIE, and Cisco Live Distinguished Speaker.
