ONUG Concludes Biannual Spring 2021 Event and Announces New Board Member, Award Recipients and Upcoming Projects

Enterprise cloud community offers sneak peek of ONUG Fall 2021

BOSTON – May 24, 2021ONUG, an open enterprise cloud community of Global 2000 IT business leaders, announced the completion of its Spring 2021 event. ONUG Spring hosted over 3,000 attendees digitally, including Global 2000 IT executives and practitioners from nearly 100 countries as well as some of the largest cloud consumers in the enterprise space, such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, FedEx, Cigna, Fidelity Investmentsand Citibank. Community members shared valuable knowledge around planning for scale and flexibility of enterprise cloud 2.0 architectures to drive business value. 

ONUG Spring 2021 sponsors, speakers and attendees came together using ONUG’s digital platform and various networking tools to interact via video and chat to share experiences, solutions and thought leadership to support the entire ONUG community. 

A few key highlights from ONUG Spring 2021: 

  • Introduction of the Cloud Security Notification Framework (CSNF). CSNF is an industry-changing framework that will establish common definitions and syntax for major cloud provider alerts, alarms and events. On May 6, the ONUG Collaborative’s working group unveiled the CSNF Decorator – the mechanism to enable multi cloud security notification service so consumers can achieve greater visibility and governance among their assets. 
  • Day 2 of ONUG Spring was dedicated to Working Group Output day. Digital Journey playbooks were presented along with five new papers on Elastic Infrastructure, Orchestration and Automation, AIOps, CSNF Decorator and Cloud Native Security. Vendors and Enterprise Cloud professionals collaborate in ONUG Working Groups on how best to implement and scale enterprise cloud infrastructures.
  •  Dr. Doug Comer of Purdue University and Dr. Behnaz Arzani of Microsoft developed the research track for ONUG Spring and Fall to bring academic thought leadership back to ONUG. Topics included 5G and cloud edge, the future of network management, the future of SDN controllers and 5G vs Wi-Fi 6.
  • Sigal Zarmi, managing director, international CIO and global head of transformation at Morgan Stanley, was awarded the ONUG Thought Leadership award for her contributions to the technology community. 
  • Suzan Mahboob, lead programs engineer at Blizzard Entertainment, was officially appointed as an ONUG board member.
