Where the Rubber Hits the Road: Lessons Learned from Our AI Hackathon for Network Operators

Fall 2025

The workshop will provide insights into

  • How to apply AI platform capabilities (data connectors/ MCP, LLMs, agents, contextual data/ RAG) to a set of very common NetOps use cases in a real multi-vendor network environment
  • Explore different approaches on how to collaborate while bringing in a Network Copilot as team member
  • Showcase examples from our Hackathon covering SONiC Network operations and troubleshooting, general network support flows for multi-vendor OS environments, and granular real-time observability of network traffic
Speakers:

Thomas has 25+ years leading high-performance teams and business transformations. At Cisco
he led DC product management (Nexus, ACI), launched Cisco’s first SONiC offer, built a DC
software subscription business, and created the blueprint for enterprise DC AI network fabrics.
At Intel, as VP/GM, he led the IPU/DPU and Ethernet NIC portfolio for AI and cloud
infrastructure.

Chid Perumal is a technology leader with 20+ years of experience in developing software and data-driven applications for enterprise and cloud networks. Before founding Aviz, Chid held pivotal roles in software architecture and leadership at Amazon (AWS), Lenovo, IBM, and Blade Network Technologies. He has successfully led global teams in creating and deploying advanced networking software solutions, including Network Operating Systems (NOS) for white-box switches, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions, network automation, and monitoring platforms.

Chid holds multiple patents in Software-Defined Networking, Network Observability, Data driven platforms, and Enterprise Switching/Routing. He has also authored several white papers on Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), Application Performance Monitoring, and SDN.
