Sean Cavanaugh is a Senior Principal Technical Marketing Manager for Red
Hat Ansible, where he leads strategic initiatives at the intersection of
automation and AI. With over 15 years of experience designing, building, and
automating IT infrastructure, Sean has helped global enterprises modernize
and simplify their operations. Prior to Red Hat, he held technical leadership
roles at Cumulus Networks (acquired by NVIDIA) and Cisco Systems, where he
guided customers through the adoption of network automation and open
networking.
A Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Sean is now focused on
advancing AIOps—demonstrating how AI-powered automation with Ansible
can drive self-healing infrastructure, observability-driven workflows, and
enterprise-scale efficiency. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences,
contributes actively to the open source automation community, and publishes
widely on the practical applications of AI in IT operations.
