ONUG Connect was developed by the ONUG Collaborative WAN Connectivity API Working Group Co-Chaired by Eric Powers (Citigroup) and Chris Cheu (Evernorth) along with participation from Global 2000 enterprises, cloud providers, telecom carriers, NaaS/SD-WAN vendors, and infrastructure platform providers. ONUG Connect is an API-first connectivity platform unifying 400+ carriers to enable automated service discovery, multi-provider comparison, and intelligent ordering.
Despite dramatic advances in cloud, security, and AI infrastructure, enterprise WAN procurement remains one of IT’s last manual, opaque, and high-friction processes. Legacy RFP-driven sourcing, fragmented carrier data, and disconnected ordering systems slow innovation and constrain agility.
As enterprises accelerate toward AI-driven operations, distributed workloads, and multi-cloud architectures, the traditional connectivity sourcing model is no longer sustainable.
ONUG Connect was created to eliminate these barriers and redefine how enterprises procure and manage WAN services in the AI era.
ONUG Connect will standardize how enterprises discover, compare, order, provision, and manage network services across global providers through automation, not manual sourcing.
It creates the foundation for programmable, API-driven WAN services that integrate directly into enterprise workflows, network automation platforms, and AI-driven operations.
Key Capabilities
ONUG Connect is the result of an enterprise-led collaboration through the ONUG Collaborative WAN Connectivity API Working Group bringing together Global 2000 enterprises, carriers, cloud providers, and WAN technology innovators to define the industry’s future connectivity standard.
This is not a vendor-controlled platform. It is a buyer-driven initiative governed by the world’s largest consumers of network services.
