Kaycee brings over two decades of transformative leadership in enterprise technologies including AI, analytics, and infrastructure, and we are incredibly excited to have him on board to help define our AI strategy and establish Pure as a leader in the enterprise AI space.
Prior to Pure Storage, Kaycee was the Founder and CEO of Promethium, where he pioneered the industry’s first AI-native data fabric. Under his leadership, Promethium won the Gartner Cool Vendor award and Best Data Management product for the Codie Awards. The Promethium data fabric has been widely adopted by numerous enterprises leveraging AI in analytics.
Kaycee’s background in enterprise technology also includes stints in product management and go-to-market strategies, having scaled teams at successful startups like Waterline Data (acquired by Hitachi), Virsto (acquired by VMware for $250M), Avamar (acquired by EMC for $165M), and Delphix (acquired by Perforce for $400M+). While at Virsto he was a senior leader of the team that built the VM-centric storage hypervisor, which evolved into VMware’s $2B+ VSAN business unit. Prior to that he ran strategic accounts at Avamar growing it to a $500M business unit the EMC acquisition. Post acquisition while at EMC Kaycee doubled the revenue of the Backup, Recovery and Archive division in Asia Pacific and Japan.
Kaycee holds a number of patents in the data and metadata technologies for AI including US 11,087,123 (data processing), US 10,496,743 (natural language queries), US 10,891,305 (metadata management), and US 11,288,342 (data cataloging).
