James Duncan is a Senior Product Manager at Google Cloud, focused on Cloud Networking and Agent Infrastructure. He leads product strategy for agent networking, agent Platform infrastructure, and agent governance, with a focus on zero-trust network architectures.
His work centers on Agent Gateway and Layer 7 egress networking, to provide secure routing, observability, and policy enforcement for AI agents. He also leads core governance, spanning cryptographic identity, least-privilege delegation, and runtime guardrails that block lateral movement and data exfiltration.
Previously, James was a Solutions Architect at Google Cloud, designing large-scale compute and trading infrastructure for investment banks and hedge funds. Before Google, he was a Manager in PwC’s Technology Consulting practice and worked in IT strategy and architecture at Westpac New Zealand. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Information Systems from the University of Auckland.
