Michael is a 30+ year veteran IT professional. He began his career as a network engineer in the days of ethernet hubs and repeaters and has kept himself busy chasing packets of one sort or another ever since. He has worked in all manner of industry verticals and has significant large enterprise experience managing both networks and app hosting environments at scale at Bausch & Lomb and Fidelity Investments. Mike spent his final 5 years at Fidelity in the Enterprise Architecture group focused on various platform infrastructure initiatives, including leading the effort to develop a unified server strategy.
Michael has spent the last decade working as an independent consultant, helping mid-sized, private equity portfolio companies develop the technology frameworks needed to support their global expansion efforts. His involvement with ONUG’s Hybrid, Multi-Cloud Security Working Group dates to its inception in 2015. He is an avid DevOps practitioner and for the past several years has served as Organizer for the annual “DevOpsDays Boston” conference. In his free time, Mike enjoys working on his finger-style guitar technique and tramping around the countryside honing his photography skills.
Michael did his undergraduate work in Honours English & History at the University of Western Ontario, London. He studied graduate history at Brandeis, both taught and studied in the grad IT program at Harvard and earned graduate certificates in Data Science at MIT.
